My fourth project had connected to my third by the way of the wood chips. I mixed the wood chips and white paint on plexus glass which I have used as my fourth piece. I covered the plexus glass and paint chips in a beautiful light blue acrylic and water paint mix. This piece is probably my favorite piece by far mainly because I think it is the most true.

My question for y'all is: Should I end the connection at piece four and start "free" art or keep making work that connects with my previous work?

I have connected my second project with my third by tracing the corners of my second project on top of the canvas of my third project. I used black to trace the edges because i felt like it was going to look best with the colors on the second project. My third project turned out to be a big black canvas with black lines (from the outline of piece 2). I also added the cut out wood from piece one and two because they were left over and i thought them mixed with paint would be neat. I mixed the paint and wood chips on a piece of plexus glass which lead me to my next piece! I compare this piece of work to the piece "Emboldened" by Megan Duncanson http://www.madartdesigns.com
I compare this piece to her mainly because she does unexpected work on big canvases like this piece.

February 22

I am starting the second string to my project. I have taken the wood plank I used during the making process of my first project, and I painted it with acrylic.  This piece of art is my first colorful piece. I used lighter colors, and green and blue to be calm and not loud. This wood piece reminds me a lot of this wood art that people are doing a lot of. I enjoys the texture of the wood and how well the paint went on it.

Feb 15 blog

The beginning to my new project was I took wood blocks and glued them together with hot glue, and made holes in them with screws and went through it with string. I did this project in black and white jut because thats how i believed it looked best. I am gonna tie this to my next project with the wood plack that i screwed into. A artist that uses process to make their next piece of work is Leonardo Drew.

I HAVE A NEW IDEA/ PLAN!!! I recently discovered that my first piece of art work had a string (not a literal string) that connected it to my second piece.. that there was something that made them like "married" or "related" in some sort of way. I have decided that for all of my upcoming art work i want it to be because of what I made from making something else.. confusing I know.. but it is quiet simple! When i make a piece of work I either make it on top of something else or use a left over scrap or anything from the first piece and including it in the next and so on and so forth. This idea was truly inspired to me by Leonardo Drew.

I have begun to notice me slacking on my art work... along with my blogs, and i truly believe it is because at this point in the school year and art making process I am not inspired. I have hit a complete road block in my work and cannot seem to find out what I like. I have begun my first color piece but it still doesn't help lead me toward a "New Plan". My main wonder is what do people see when they look at this piece? What will other galleries and artist see or look for in my work?
In order to have "good" art or art people enjoy its not just about the outcome of my art it has got to be about the process and the meaning i put into my art.

New Idea .. January 25

My idea for my "new work" is more colorful and bubbly I hope. I want my artwork to reflect me in a way that is understandable to others. I want my artwork to still be abstract and freely done I just want to add color to my work to open up a new "chapter" of art. I am slowly learning that color is not childish and immature because so many famous artist use color in their day to day artwork. Color can be very sophisticated and even help portray a piece of art work better. The thought of using color and seeing it on my work does kind of scare me, but I think once I do it and use it I will learn to enjoy it. I like the look of color in my work when its not a particular day to day object. I could not picture myself sitting down with a apple infant of me just painting it. I am more of a sit down and paint with color but still play.

old work .. January 18 blog

I have been reviewing my art work from last semester and some from last year. The main focus of my art work last semester was black and white and the thought of being abstract to a point. The way my work connected from one to the other was odd in the way that the main way it did that was color. The way color affected my thoughts was very odd. When I looked at color I portrayed it as childish and immature. The reasoning behind this was because when I was a child my room was very colorful and loud with bright pink walls. Whenever I would try to include color in my work I hated it. I looked at it and did not see me and it took me longer to make work with color cause I did not under stand how to use it. The artist that I compare to this work is Michelle Grabner. She works with black and white abstract art.

                I am interested in playing with materials and taking chances. I appreciate the excitement of not knowing how my art is going to turn out. My goal this semester is to figure out what it is that I should be making. I want all of my work to have a common thread.
